So You Think You Can Dance?
A Eurofurence first timer this year was the "Enter the Arena" dance contest. And it was a roaring success. Twelve contestants entered the dance floor in an all out dancing combat.
Hosted by Bariki and Twll and evaluated by a panel of four judges, Shay, the Martins, and Rizzo, the contestants gave the audience all they had. The performances were varied, ranging from Arabian veil dance to jump style.
Buddy's quest to become a "popufur"What really made the show, besides from the incredible athletic and creative performances of the contestants, was the great atmosphere that developed thanks to the witty hosts, judges and of course Buddy, who simply couldn't resist crashing the party in his never ending quest to become a popufur. Although he actually pulled off a very nice dance performance he sadly lacked the necessary points, which set him off to a wild hunt for more...
At one time it looked like the show would grind to a halt as one of the contestants, Sparkwolf, hurt his knee. For a short time it seemed that he couldn't participate any longer and as more and more time passed, the audience grew restless. All of a sudden the other dancers simply implemented a policy of dance anarchy and stormed the floor keeping the audience entertained until the show could go on.
In the end Neo took the first place being the audiences favorite as well as the judges. Tycer took second place and they were awarded their medals by the Martins. Another audience favourite was Sparkwolf, whose determination and incredible performance, even when handicapped, earned him third place.
